What it is

A lightweight MobileNet SSD detector that checks whether people are wearing face masks on live video feeds, built for COVID-19 compliance monitoring in public spaces.

Problem

Institutions needed an automated, low-cost way to monitor mask compliance.

Approach

Trained a custom MobileNet SSD model and integrated it with video streams for real-time inference.
